Labor pledges $450K to upgrade two Gold Coast State Schools
The State Government has promised to invest $450,000 to upgrade two State Schools on the Gold Coast, if re-elected this month. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said Labrador State School will receive $150,000 for new shade covers, plus two new industrial-size fans for the school’s hall. While $300,000 has been set aside for Arundel State School to upgrade their amenities.Labor Candidate for Bonney Ash Borg said the funding will help both the schools and Gold Coast tradies, who will secure work on the projects. Getting school upgrade will definitely benefit the students and teachers of a state school. However, what I do not like about this project is that the proponents promised it if they will be re-elected this month. My question would be, what if they are not re-elected? Does it mean that the project does not proceed? I think it is best if they have promised the project with no conditions. It does not just look right to politicize even the education of the young generation. I would appreciate this news better if it says, whether or not the state government is re-elected or not, the project to upgrade two Gold Coast State schools will continue.
